Catching up!!!

Holy Moly!!! Its been forever since I've blogged. Well.....about anything lately, I guess I should take you all back a few months....

September:
September brought us some interesting times for us but for the most uneventful. We had just returned from Kauai, which we had an awesome time. Mia auditioned for the Nutcracker, which is produced by Ballet Hawaii, located in Honolulu, however the show was for 2 nights here on Maui at the MACC. She did get accepted for the Angel role, Megan was busy standing and cruising on furniture just being a amazing baby, Shawn is very much an adolescent. He loves his new school and is testing his limits with us, sometimes Gev and I really don't know how to deal with a preteen, but we stumble along the best we can.

October:
From the annual county fair to Halloween, that month was packed with tons of things to do. The fair was so much fun. Gev took a vacation day to go with us to the fair we actually got to watch the parade, we totally gorged ourselves on junkfood, we had been watching on the food network about a fried twinkie, we loved it. Played games, spent too much money in the craft tents. You know the usual at the fair.
We also had parent teacher conferences too that month, Mia's went great though Ms Groom said she talks just a little too much. Hmmm....... I wonder who she get that from??? But skating along right on track. Shawn's was, well I guess I would say more of a reflection time, but he's doing great now.

There she goes......

Holy Moly!!! Meg started walking 2 nights ago, sorry should of posted when it happened but I'm loving just watching her do it. She is so funny. Its super cute. She gets up in a super wide leg stance sometimes and realizes she can't go anywhere becasue she's practically doing the splits, goes and sits down and gets up again. Does 3 steps and loses her balance and lands on her booty. She always looks so surprised and pleased with herself, plus she waits for Gev and I to cheer her on, then starts all over again. Last nite she started to turn in a circle while trying to walk. Hilarious!!! Oh Megan, you never stop amazing me with all that you do!!! I can't believe how fast you like to do everything. Or maybe I can, she was such a wiggle worm when I was pregnant with her, she never stopped moving. Perhaps she just wants to keep up with her brother and sister. I'll post some pics and the video we got of her walking later. Keep up the good work Meg!! You can do it!!!!

Home Bound

Well there are no pictures for this day, sorry, I finally got sick myself, It wasn't pretty with both parents sick. We at breakfast at the buffet there and hung at the pool until it was time to leave. The day was never ending and Hawaiian airlines lost the girls booster and car seats, Crap, crap, crap. Luckily they had some extras and we were off, we stopped by Zippy's for dinner and finally dragged ourselves into the house and passed out. It was a awesome mini vacation, its lucky we live here to experience the beauty of another island, but its great to be home!!!!

Our 3rd day started out with breakfast at one of the local restaurants down into the next town, then off to see some sights. We visited Waimea Canyon, mind boggling beauty, Gev and I have a picture from 7 years ago and its the 2 of us and now its the 5 of us. I wish I could post that picture for a good laugh, well and then you could all see how skinny we both were. What marriage and kids have done!! Heehee!! We checked out Koke'e, its mystical up there, your above the clouds and its so cold, we stopped by the state park for a potty break and watched the chickens and chilled for a bit. We stopped and had lunch at the shrimp station, try the garlic shrimp, its the bomb. Then back to the hotel, while Gev took a nap, we took the kids back for a swim at the pool, his cold was full blown by then. We had dinner at Yum Cha on the golf course and YUM it was, we had so much food, but it was delicious, the perfect place for our last dinner on Kauai.

Day 2 started with Uncle Jo and Aunty Ty joining us early in the morning. They brought Leijah , Aunty Ty's niece to play with Mia. Gev and Megan slept in late and I took the kids for a light breakfast while we waited for parrot talk, because Mia loves animals. Shawn kind of cruised by himself around the lobby, its so nice having a big boy. We then took the kids to go swimming again and by the time we left the pool, Mia started swimming by herself across the pool with no swim wings (their pool is huge by the way) and Shawn had made a friend. We went to eat lunch at Brick oven pizza in Koloa, that place if you have a chance is the bomb. Everyone should go there when in Kauai. We then walked off our lunch by going to the swinging bridge in Hanapepe, it was so much fun. We had to stop by a grocery store to by cold medicine because poor Gev was coming down with a cold. The girls wanted to ride the merri-go-round. Do you remember those in the old school days??? It brings back such memories. Gev and the kids needed a nap, so Meg and I set out to explore the hotel. We ended the evening by dining at Tide Pools, which is a very similar concept to Gev's restaurant. They gave us a bungalow all to ourselves which the kids could watch the fish while we waited for our food. We had such a good time and we left stuffed.

Gev and I really needed to have some quality time with the kids now going into a new school year and time just passing us by. We thought the best place to chill and hang with the kids would be Kauai, We also invited Aunty Ty and Uncle Jo to join us too. We flew over on Mokulele airlines, OMG they are the best. The staff was amazing, and super friendly, the seats were big and we had lots of leg room. We got to Kauai and rented a car and from the Alamo car rental they were so super nice. The staff there was awesome too. What a great way to start our vacation. We got some food and checked out their local Walmart there and boy, its tiny, but we stocked up on some necessities. We then drove to the Grand Hyatt. The last time we went to the Hyatt Kauai was 7 years ago, when Gev and I got engaged. Talked about coming full circle. Just as we remembered though, incredible. We checked in and took the kids for an evening swim. What a great way to start out a well deserved vacation.

On August 19th Mia turned 5. This is a milestone year for us. She's in a big school, still dancing ballet, finished a summer of hip hop. With Mia, everything is so fun, she's a giant goofball like Gev, has this insane sense of humor, beautiful, she is such a joy to be around. She celebrated her birthday at school with surprisingly 2 other girls. What a day for girls to be born and I wish I had gotten a picture of those three together. Mia, Emma and Jalin were all born on the 19th, Emma's mom bought the cupcakes, we bought the juice and Jalin's mom brought the goodie bags it was perfect. We had Mia's party at Gev's parents house with a cookout and all the family. She loved all her presents and thank-you to all who were able to join us and for her gifts. Its just amazing how much she's grown . Happy Birthday Mia!!!

Happy 6th month birthday Megan!!!

Megan turned 6 months old on August 17th. Seriously, this is all happening way too fast for me. I cannot believe how time has flown with this girl. She's been sitting up, crawling, rolling around all over the place and the worst part is she's starting to pull up to a standing position. Eek, soon she'll be walking, oh and by the way as of this posting date 9/21, she's been standing own her own for a few seconds at a time. Crazy, I know. She still is the best baby, super cruiser and can entertain herself. She smiles at everyone and will go to just about anyone who holds their arms out to her. She's loving and when she sees pictures of puppies she cracks up. Meg, everyday you just amaze me with all your discoveries. Happy birthday baby!!!

Oh yeah and I took Meg up to the Ritz Carlton to do some amateur photos. I asked Harmony and Halia to come make Megan smile while I took some pictures of her at 6 months. Oh yeah and I made her entire outfit. Super cute huh??? I'm amazed how I'm trying to get crafty and all Martha Stewart on myself. I make tutus, headbands and little clips with bows. Its my new little side business, even though I haven't made any money yet, but who knows, maybe soon??
