A Discovery!!!

We are just thrilled to see tonight that Megan is going to have dimples just like her daddy!! Too Cute!! Definitely a feature that Gev has that I just love!! Hooray!! Both my girls have dimples, well Mia's is by her mouth!! Shawn has my goofy no dimple smile, but then again he and I do have an awesome smile!! Besides I just love seeing my kids smile!! I lets me know just how happy they are!!

Ohana dinners

Since I've been on maternity leave and had Megan, our family has started up an old ritual that we used to do at my grandmother's house. Once a week we used to go to grandma's for dinner so that the family can see each other and catch up with what going on with everyone.
So now, the kids and I spend Monday nights at my grandpa's house with my mom, grandpa, Justin and his kids. Harmony and Gev usually work those nights. Tuesdays or Wednesdays are reserved for Gev's family.
We used to just show up and eat whatever the parents cook, but now we usually bring something. From barbecuing, baking, bringing dessert or just getting a bit creative. So while we were in Honolulu, we found this awesome musubi shop called Mana Bu's its on S. King St. They have all kind of musubi's. So we've been making yummy rice dishes, and at costco they have this orange chicken that I just love. Gev's parents left for Vegas on Monday, so we decided to have his brother's and their family over to continue our tradition, and tonight I decided to make sloppy joes and tater tots (old school style). Plus I made the special dairy queen mustard/mayo combo for the tater tots! Yummy!! I think its just nice to sometimes that we don't have to depend on our parents for our get together. I love the fact that Gev and I feel the need to spend time with our families. I definitely look forward to weekly get together!!!

P90X??

With the newest fitness craze being this P90X, I decided to forgo a gym membership and bought this instead. Everyone's talking about it and a couple of our friends are in the beginning stages of this, so I figured "What the Hey??!!" it couldn't hurt right? So I just purchased it tonite. I'm going to have us workout in his parents garage cause there's room, plus they have a Tv and dvd player there too! Hopefully I'll be able to get me and Gev to start this on May 1st or at the very latest the first full week of May. Wish us luck.

April!! Such a busy month!!

I always thought July was a busy and eventful month. We have birthdays all over the place plus school usually starts at the end of the month. I never expected to have so much going on.
So the day after we got back from Honolulu, Mia was invited to her first sleepover birthday party!! She had a wonderful time!! I was surprised I didn't get any calls from her to come pick her up. But she loves the birthday girl Quelsy!! Happy 6th Birthday Quelsy! They apparently did make overs and painted their nails. Just like a big girl!!
Shawn went to the movies with his friend Jaylen and Jennifer!!! Thanks to my Titah for taking him and entertaining him for a few hours. He watched Fast and Furious!! He had been dying to see this movie and was so glad to go with friends to see it. He also had a great time!
We also managed to squeeze in a whale watch to on Sunday the 5th. My Titah and her family got us on the Gemini, her sister is the whale naturalist. It was such a beautiful day, out on the ocean. The kids were a little apprehensive of where they sat in the beginning. Mia sat on my lap and Shawn sat in the netting part of the boat. We saw quite a few whales and Mia was excited to see a baby humpback whale, plus she was with her best friend Cece. Shawn got really brave and sat with Jay at the front of the boat, they got a little bit wet, but their smiles went ear to ear. Megan unfortunately missed out on the boat ride, she stayed at home with Mama and Papa.
Gevin and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary. Happy Anniversary to Us!!! It wasn't how we normally celebrate our anniversary, but with a newborn every things thrown off a bit. Gev made us breakfast!! Yum yum!! And we went to dinner at Merriman's (the old Kapalua Bay Club), it was good, the view was amazing and it was surprisingly cold. I did have half a glass of wine to celebrate, but all in all just to be together alone made it special.
I also celebrated my 30th birthday for the 3rd time this past Tuesday. See if you can figure that riddle out. Heehee!! We went to Kobe's for dinner at Mia's request. It was yummy. I love their dynamite. My mom and my brother's kids joined us and we invited everyone up to house for cake. We got the kids to dance in our living room, we were really encouraging Mana to be goofy cause he tries to act cool all the time. We succeeded in getting them all into it until Aulani fell and her left hand went through the glass in one of our frames. Poor Aulani, the cut was so bad she ended up with 6 stitches. Gev and I felt horrible. It was no ones fault but still you know, I hate when any of the kids get hurt. She was amazing, she didn't cry at all. We gave her some Motrin while Gev and I bandaged her up.
So were a little bit half way through the month and I'll keep you all posted with what's going on with us, but don't you think??? Busy or not busy?? You be the judge!! Heehee!!

The Honolulu Trip

So for the Shawn's and Mia's spring break, we decided since Megan needed to see the genetics office there, why not make a mini vacation out of it. So it was Megan's first plane ride and she did great. She nursed on the lift off and was asleep when we landed. Treats for me as I had Mia to entertain and Gev and Shawn sat behind us listening to their ipods. Hmmm, sound familiar to a few of my mom friends??? Heehee! Other than our flight being delayed an hour (not a big deal) Our trip was off to a great start. The car rental (Alamo) were awesome and were able to get us a van, as none were available when I made the reservation. He gave us an awesome deal!! Hooray!! Plus we had tons of room for our luggage and room for more as we planned to pick up Gev's cousin Bridget to join us on our daily activities.
The doctors visit went great and we got an awesome room at the Hyatt Waikiki!! The best ocean view room, plus we were given regency club access. Big Mahalos Josh and Anui for the hook up!!! We took full advantage of the breakfast option for a couple of days. Totally saved us some money if you know what I mean!! Got to see a lot of our friends that we used to work with when Gev and I lived on Oahu. Miss them a ton.
I finally got to go to Baby Emporium, I'm kind of glad I didn't go before I had Megan, I would have spent so much money. But I got a baby sling, a buggy board (its a board that attaches to a stroller so that the older child can stand behind and get a ride too), this awesome bib that my friend Mariah had for her daughter Ryenne, its reusable and its catches the food that misses the babies mouth!!, Plus some other odds and ends stuff for Megan. Gev wanted to get Mia the bike style attachment rather than the board. Mia had so much fun on it, however in about 3 months she probably would have been too big for it. :( The staff there was so nice and very informative on all their products. I highly recommend their store!!
We also went to my friend Craig's house for a barbecue!! He and his wife were my roommates for a few months when I had no where to live. Miss those days, I was spoiled rotten. It was really cold, they live in Manoa Valley area. But the food and the company was the best.
So Target opened in Honolulu in early March. OMG!!! I got my target fix without having to go to the mainland. We went to the store on Salt Lake Blvd. The store is huge and beautiful. Unfortunately my family gave out before I did. Oh well!! We also made it out to Carters and I got some super cute stuff for Megan and Mia, Shawn and Gev got some new shoes.
We did go to the Bishop Museum this time. Unfortunately the Hawaiian Hall was closed due to renovations. It should be open in a few months. We saw some other artifacts from some other South Pacific cultures, pretty awesome. They also had an animation exhibit presented by the cartoon network (I'm not to fond of their cartoons, plus the kids aren't allowed to watch a lot of them) but the exhibit was so fun. I think Shawn, Gev and Mia had the most fun. I sat in the corner a lot nursing Megan. Heehee!! They also have a science building with a volcano model in the building, it shakes, makes noise, and smokes, and they have a slide you can ride on. We weren't able to enjoy that exhibit as Mia freaked out and screamed to be outside and away from the hot lava!! Poor baby, she couldn't be consoled for atleast 10 minutes. We've never seen her that freaked out before. We let Shawn play inside the building for a while longer, before we left.
If anyone has never been to this restaurant Makino Chaya, you are missing out. It was delicious. Totally worth the wait and the food, I can't stop thinking about it We will definitely be back!!
We were able to get the kids to Chuck E Cheese. Mia again freaked out at the robotic show with the characters there, but she had a blast with the games. Shawn loves all video games and definitely had a great time. I gave him a little extra money as he was being such a big help to us and patient with his sisters. Gev's cousin Bridget was with us and it was hilarious. She and I were sitting at a table talking and Chuck (the mouse) came out to sing happy birthday to the table next to us and then starting hitting on Bridget!! He kept coming over to hug her, sitting with us when he should have been at the next table. I had to take a picture of them with her camera. Too funny!! I mean she's such a beautiful girl, so what boy wouldn't flirt with her.
On our last day there we made it to the water park, it only took 3 different attempts. And YES! We did drive out there all 3 times. First day was too cold and rainy, next day we didn't have enough time. But my friend Karen (she works with me) met us there as she was on vacation with her husband and her grandson Caleb. For the first time Shawn had someone there to play with him and go on all the rides, but as boys will do they kept getting separated. Bridget entertained Mia for me. I sat and hung out with Karen and Gev helped me with Megan and took a nap.
Finally it was time to go home. The traffic was so bad we missed our flight. Oh great, so we had to pay to rebook our flights and we were all separated this time. Well I had the girls but you know what I mean. I think our trip was so long and we were so tired that when going through the security gate, plus Gev and I switched responsibilities, he was going to take Megan and I was going to make sure Shawn, Mia and our stuff made it through. I don't know what happened but when I went to give the guard our tickets. Gev started folding up the stroller!!! Megan was still inside. OMG!!!! I freaked out bad!!! Who does that right??!! Hello our baby is still in the stroller and he was supposed to take her out!!! We'll never switch up our duties again. Its just easier to stick with what we normally do.
So we all got home safe and sound, exhausted from our trip. Fun, definitely, but tiring!

Happy 2nd Month Birthday Megan!!

Wow!! I can't believe she's 2 months old already!!! Happy birthday baby Megan!!! We've discovered how much of a cruiser she is. She is the most laid back baby I've ever come met. She just talks and plays. Amazing. Some mornings I wake up to hear her playing in her crib or next to me, not crying just cruising. I bought a new baby sling when we were in Honolulu, she only likes to face outwards to where all the action is so she can watch and observe. She is one smiley baby if you ask me and we're starting to get some giggles out of her. It sounds kind of like she's trying to cough, but she's really just trying to laugh. Hilarious!!! Happy birthday Sweetheart! We love you so much!!
