Ohana dinners

Since I've been on maternity leave and had Megan, our family has started up an old ritual that we used to do at my grandmother's house. Once a week we used to go to grandma's for dinner so that the family can see each other and catch up with what going on with everyone.
So now, the kids and I spend Monday nights at my grandpa's house with my mom, grandpa, Justin and his kids. Harmony and Gev usually work those nights. Tuesdays or Wednesdays are reserved for Gev's family.
We used to just show up and eat whatever the parents cook, but now we usually bring something. From barbecuing, baking, bringing dessert or just getting a bit creative. So while we were in Honolulu, we found this awesome musubi shop called Mana Bu's its on S. King St. They have all kind of musubi's. So we've been making yummy rice dishes, and at costco they have this orange chicken that I just love. Gev's parents left for Vegas on Monday, so we decided to have his brother's and their family over to continue our tradition, and tonight I decided to make sloppy joes and tater tots (old school style). Plus I made the special dairy queen mustard/mayo combo for the tater tots! Yummy!! I think its just nice to sometimes that we don't have to depend on our parents for our get together. I love the fact that Gev and I feel the need to spend time with our families. I definitely look forward to weekly get together!!!
